Hey LABgeeks! This week’s inspiration has been inspired by catching up on podcasts. I’ve written about how podcasts have helped me deep dive into my creative career, and recommended some that can help you do the same, or even give you some tactical advice, whether in business or your craft.

In this episode, she recaps some of her best interviews with Seth Godin, Jen Sincero, Mark Manson, Amber Rae, Danielle LaPorte, Howard Schultz, and Morgan Harper Nichols to name a few. CRUCIAL & INSPIRING INSIGHTS THAT YOU NEED TO HEAR TODAY (HITRECORD X 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL!) WITH CREATIVE PEP TALK
Another jam-packed episode, but one that just hits you right in the feels kind of listening episode, is episode #241 of Creative Pep Talk (CPT). If any of you follow my writing or on Instagram, you’ll know I’m a huge Creative Pepperoni! This is a particularly moving episode, because it not only marks the 5th year anniversary for CPT, but is a huge collaborative effort with HitRecord (just listen to the episode interview with Joseph Gorden-Levitt, another great gem!), Andy J. Pizza and the Creative Pepperonis (podcast listeners/followers). I will admit, I was in tears, I was laughing, I was Aha!-ing, and everything in between. For any creative that knows and understands the struggle, goes through imposter syndrome, or just needs that extra pep, like a virtual hug from your earphones, tune this episode up today!

Part day in the life, part life story, part casual conversation between close friends, and overall deep dive into Lisa Congdon’s thriving creative career, her inspiring story of picking up a paint brush at the age of 31 and turning pro at age 40, and now onto her 9th book (with more on the way), as well as teaching and speaking at events along the way. What I particularly like about This Epic Life with KC Carter are the 3 powerful permissions that he explores with his guests: 1) Permission to Chill, 2) Permission to Feel All the Feels, and 3) Permission to Glow in the Dark. Designing Happiness with Debbie Millman and Creative Rebels
Hailing from the UK, Creative Rebels is a podcast for creative entrepreneurs, and normally their guest is on the other side of the interview table with the host of the world’s first podcast about design and what it is to build a creative life, none other than Debbie Millman. I love how the Creative Rebels host tell the story of how they finally get to interview Debbie Millman–and it’s truly worth it with their candid interview with her on what it is to synthesize happiness. Design Matters Live: Austin Kleon
Austin Kleon describes himself as a writer who draws, and probably most known for his book Steal Like An Artist. They begin the interview discussing what that description means, and then dive into what multi-disciplinary creatives greatly struggle with: the thinking of having to choose pursuing only one discipline. Austin speaks about how his two young sons do not think in disciplines, yet are highly intuitive and naturally creative. Part creative career talk, part life advice, and everything in between. One of the most thought provoking ideas is when Austin describes what happens when you start to spend time on the things you love, and how they eventually relate to each other. Appropriately enough, and later in the episode, Debbie drops a small detail, yet huge surprise about how she and Austin are connected. If you haven’t heard this one yet, tune in now!
